My name is Madeleine Shelton and I am the owner and lead designer of Botanicamuse. My passion for flowers began when I was in kindergarten moseying through my mama's garden, plucking handfuls of flowers, cherry tomatoes (and worms) as gifts while she washed dishes. Armed with colored pencils, markers, and paints, I filled many a sketch book with wild ideas. I discovered floristry while attending business school up in the Bay Area. After graduating from the University of San Francisco, I returned to my native San Diego and began studies in floral design and horticulture at Cuyamaca College where I learned the principles of design (learn the rules so you can break the rules) and the different care and handling techniques for the many blooms, vines and curious botanical varieties I weave into my work. Botanicamuse is my latest wild idea and dream career. With the help of my imaginative team, Botanicamuse events dazzle with warmth and personality. Through my art, I hope to spark a sense of wonder, crafting a beautiful and customized atmosphere to savor and recall for years to come.
